Ten Armed Spirals This area of the Mandelbrot set is dominated by the number ten. The spiral we are zooming in on has ten arms, and other less obvious manifestations of ten are also present. For instance, when iterating points in the attached bulb in order to calculate the Mandelbrot set, the points tend to repeat every twenty (two times ten) times.
